The day will kick off with a keynote session delivered by Erin Albert, MBA, PharmD, JD, DASPL, vice president of pharmacy relations and chief privacy officer at the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company, PBC. In a session titled “Taking Care of Transparency in Drug Pricing, So Pharmacy Can Take Care of Patients: An Update on Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company, PBC,” Albert will discuss the steps that the company is taking to make drug pricing more transparent in order to help pharmacists find better pricing for their patients.

Other featured speakers include:

Emily Endres, BSPS, vice president of pharmacy at Innovaccer, will discuss the evolution of healthcare and insights into the industry’s next phase. The session will equip pharmacy professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to adapt to the changing environment, emphasizing the integration of technology to empower staff members.

“The [Total Pharmacy Solutions Summit] provides the opportunity for pharmacies to learn the importance of adaptation and innovation in the face of industry-wide changes,” Endres said. “Understand what strategies can be deployed to diversify revenue streams, stay ahead of financial pressures, and work to evolve their position within the patient care continuum.”

In a roundtable discussion, Wayne Boese, vice president of sales at American Associated Pharmacies, Jason Ausily, PharmD, MSLS, head of pharmacy transformation at EnlivenHealth, and Carter Tatum, solution sales and strategy manager of financial solutions at EnlivenHealth, will talk about the real-world implications of applying Direct and Indirect Remuneration (DIR) fees at the point of sale rather than through retroactive clawback.

The Outcomes team will discuss how Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and patient engagement solutions can elevate a pharmacy by sharing strategies to enhance patient outcomes, boost revenue, and optimize services for greater profitability.

Jon Minkin, enterprise account executive at NimbleRx, will discuss how pharmacies can unlock new income streams through NimbleRx’s mobile checkout solution, which supercharges pharmacy revenue by enabling mobile refill requests, checkout, payment, and signature on the fly.

“We offer the most unique revenue model in the industry,” Minkin said when discussing NimbleRx’s mobile solutions. “Our partnership is offered complementary. Nimble offers a win-win model truly designed to help pharmacies drive bottom-line revenue.”

The day will also feature 2 continuing education sessions worth a combined 2.50 CE credits, free for day-of attendees. The first CE session, led by Lauren B. Angelo, PharmD, MBA, associate dean of Academic Affairs and associate professor of Pharmacy Practice at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science College of Pharmacy, is focused on the risk factors associated with acquiring the herpes zoster virus, the different ways it can manifest in patients, and how pharmacists can enhance vaccination rates and contribute to improved series completion rates; the second session will be led by Sneha Baxi Srivastava, PharmD, BCACP, CDCES, DipACLM, FADCES, associate professor and associate director of the Skills Education Department of Pharmacy Practice at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, and will focus on pneumococcal disease prevention for older adults and pharmacists’ role in the evolving vaccine landscape.
