Bayer Healthcare introduces A1CNow Selfcheck [1], an A1C meter for at-home testing that produces results in 5 minutes and enables patients to watch their A1C levels between doctor visits. Novo Nordisk has announced FDA approval of Victoza (liraglutide [rDNA origin] injection), the first once-daily human glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analog for the treatment of type 2 diabetes in some adults. New generic

Amneal Pharmaceuticals has received FDA approval for Tramadol/APAP [2], a combination in tablet form of 37.5-mg tramadol and 325-mg acetaminophen (the therapeutic equivalent of Ortho-McNeil Janssen's Ultracet). The centrally acting analgesic is indicated for the short-term management of moderately severe acute pain. It is designated a controlled substance in some states. ( http://www.amneal.com)

New OTC
