In the first interview on the new series "Independent Trailblazers" from Total Pharmacy, Bruce Kneeland, community pharmacy consultant from Prescott, AZ, meets Kevin DeMass, RPh, president of the Apothecary Shoppe in Salt Lake City, UT.

Bruce Kneeland: My name is Bruce Kneeland. I'm a pharmacy consultant, and I'm here today visiting with Kevin DeMass, who's the owner of the Apothecary Shoppe, as part of the Pharmacy Roadtrip that I'm taking. You'll see me travel all the way from Phoenix, AZ to Calgary, [Canada] visiting 9 remarkable pharmacies in the Rocky Mountains. And, like I said, I'm with Kevin DeMass here. Kevin, tell us about your wonderful pharmacy here. 

Kevin DeMass, RPh: I will, and welcome to Salt Lake City, Bruce. It's good to have you here. The Apothecary Shoppe Pharmacy has been here for 45 years. We are located on the campus of the Salt Lake Regional Medical Center. This campus was established back in the late 1800s by the Sisters of the Holy Cross, who came to this valley to build this hospital and to provide patient medical care. We have been continuing in this vein, providing the best patient medical care that we can. So, the late 1800s up until 2019.
