Manufacturers are unleashing new oral care over-the-counter products that are innovative.

Dr. Fresh is launching alcohol-free Dentyne ice Mouth Rinse in two flavors: Arctic Chill and Shiver Mint. Dr. Fresh is also unveiling the Firefly Twin Pack, which features two toothbrushes, each in a different color.

Colgate-Palmolive is unveiling Colgate Total Advanced Whitening toothpaste. The product is designed to offer an effective way to whiten teeth while simultaneously maintaining healthy teeth and gums. The company says it combines a 12-hour germ-fighting formula of Colgate Total with an advanced whitening silica system to help remove surface stains for healthier and whiter teeth.

Del Pharmaceuticals' Orajel Toddler Training Toothpaste is now available in Berry Blast and Tooty Fruity flavors. The item is fluoride free. The company is also rolling out Orajel Anti-Bacterial Bleeding Gum Rinse. The mint-flavored product is designed to prevent and treat bleeding gums associated with gingivitis while soothing irritation. Another newbie is Orajel Protective Mouth Sore Discs. The disc is supposed to stay in place and form a dissolvable oral bandage that allows the sore to heal and block irritation for hours.

Johnson & Johnson is offering Listerine Tooth Defense Anticavity Fluoride Rinse. The product is supposed to strengthen teeth to help prevent cavities and kill germs that cause bad breath.

Tom's of Maine is introducing Natural Clean & Gentle Care and Natural Sensitive Care toothpastes. The firm claims that the ingredient, glycyrrhizin, creates a natural foaming experience for dispersing ingredients in the mouth. The Clean & Gentle Care line contains xylitol, glycerin, and organic aloe. The items are sodium laurel sulfate free. The Sensitive Care line boasts the same benefits as Natural Clean & Gentle Care, but also contains potassium nitrate, which is intended to reduce sensitivity in teeth.

Not to be outdone by its competitors, GlaxoSmithKline is premiering Super Poligrip Comfort Seal Strips. GSK claims that the pre-cut strips have just the right amount of adhesive and are designed to offer 12-hour hold with no ooze or mess. GSK is also unveiling Polident fresh cleanse for cleaning dentures. GSK claims the product is non-abrasive, plus powerful enough to remove tough stains.
