Larry Schieber, RPh, pharmacist and owner of Shieber Pharmacy in Circleville, OH discusses his community's drug abuse prevention coalition, the Pickaway Addiction Action Coalition, at the Cardinal Health Retail Business Conference in Nashville, TN on July 19, 2019.
Larry Schieber, RPh: The Pickaway Addiction Action Coalition—PAAC for short, everybody needs an acronym—but we were set up to reduce all addiction problems within our county. That's kind of a broad undertaking, so we've done a community-wide book read, we've had information sessions, we've set up programs for schools utilizing Generation Rx materials. We're now applying for grants, and hopefully we'll be able to get some more grants and expand our services even further.
