The National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) has accredited the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). The NCCA accreditation process included a comprehensive review of PTCB's certification program to measure its compliance against industry standards. Since 1995, PTCB has developed a national standard for pharmacy technician training and has certified more than 250,000 pharmacy technicians through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination. PTCB recently announced that it will introduce computer-based exams and expand the sites where and times when the exam is offered.
