Program for oral mucositis unveiled

The CARE OM (Caphosol Relieves Oral Mucositis) educational support program has been launched by Cytogen Corp. at the same time the company received approval for a second indication for its dry mouth therapy Caphosol. The electrolyte solution can now be used both as an adjunct to standard oral care in treating oral mucositis caused by radiation or high-dose chemotherapy and for dryness of the mouth and throat (hyposalivation, xerostomia) regardless of the cause or whether the conditions are temporary or permanent.
