Cultural diversity seems to be an area of high interest to pharmacy schools in California of late. For example, the University of California San Francisco has named its first associate dean for diversity. Filling this newly created position is Sharon Youmans, Pharm.D., MPH. The goal of both Cathey and Youmans is to increase the number of African-American, Latino, and other ethnic students and staff in their schools' classrooms.
