Slideshow: Pharmacists’ Ability to Improve Patient Care in Cancer Medication Management Services

In 4 posters presented at the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association Annual Conference 2024, researchers addressed pharmacists’ role in managing patients’ anticancer medications.

Researchers highlighted the increasing scope of pharmacists’ ability to improve anticancer medication adherence and minimize adverse effects in multiple types of clinical settings. They also offered suggestions to implement specific pharmacist functions and ensure further mitigation of treatment disruptions.

The researchers addressed interventions from a health-system specialty pharmacy (HSSP), a pharmacist-led telehealth toxicity monitoring initiative, the monitoring of patients initiating poly ADP-ribose polymerase inhibitor (PARPi) therapy, and posttransplant vaccination compliance.
