Once-daily amoxicillin approved

Moxatag is the name of a new once-daily amoxicillin product for pharyngitis and tonsillitis following strep throat

MiddleBrook Pharmaceuticals' Moxatag (amoxicillin extended-release) Tablets 775 mg have been approved to treat adults and children 12 and older with pharyngitis and/or tonsillitis secondary to strep throat. The Germantown, Md., firm claims that its product is the first once-daily amoxicillin product approved in this country. Its convenient dosing should ensure better drug compliance.
