“Know Your Medicine, Know Your Pharmacist” is the theme and core message of American Pharmacists Month (APhM). APhM, sponsored by the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), is a time to recognize the significant contributions to healthcare and the commitment to patient care by pharmacists in all practice settings from around the country.
According to APhA, you can help reinforce this message within your communities by hosting events in your practice setting, promoting your patient-care services, participating in community activities or health fairs, and getting the attention of your local media.
The APhM Planning Guide breaks down celebration ideas by practice setting and will instruct you on ways to increase community consciousness about the care provided by pharmacists. You can also visit the APhM store, where you will find APhM branded merchandise to help you promote your pharmacy and the profession during October.
APhA wants to know how you are celebrating. For more information, go to www.pharmacist.com.
