NCPA, FBI LEEDA, Purdue Pharma L.P. program will promote improving pharmacy safety and security.

The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), FBI LEEDA (Law Enforcement Executive Development Association), and Purdue Pharma L.P. have formed a partnership to combat RxPATROL training DVD on pharmacy crime. NCPA members will also receive information on discounts on closed-circuit TV cameras, recorders, and surveillance equipment along with safety and security tips from law enforcement professionals.

The Healthcare Distribution Management Association (HDMA) applauded the partners for launching "Protect Your Pharmacy Week." John Gray, HDMA president/CEO, said, "This initiative is a critically important element in an overall strategy to help further protect against increasingly sophisticated criminals who attempt to steal, divert, and counterfeit medicines. As a partner in the RxPATROL initiative, HDMA strongly supports these and other efforts to enhance the safety and security of the prescription medicine supply."
