The 2009 Fellows are Dale Coker, RPh, FIACP, Cherokee Custom Script Pharmacy, Canton, Ga.; Andrew Komuves, Jr, RPh, Community Pharmacy, Denton, Texas; and Linda F. (Walters) McElhiney, PharmD, RPh, Hospital Compounding Pharmacist at Clarian Health Partners Inc., Indianapolis, Indiana. The recipient of the lifetime fellowship is Ernest Gates, of Gates Healthcare Associates in Middleton, Mass.
The IACP Fellowship Program was established in 1997 to honor pharmacists who show exemplary commitment and professionalism in the practice of pharmacy compounding. Each applicant’s credentials are assessed against rigorous criteria that include contributions to published literature, continuing education, presentations, leadership, professional and civic service, and professional awards, according to a statement released by Gates Healthcare Associations.
IACP did not respond to requests for comment.
