Growth hormone delivery system approved

New delivery device approved for somatropin (Saizen).

EMD Serono has received an FDA approval for Easypod, a novel delivery system for the administration of somatropin ([rDNA origin] Saizen). The device features preset dosing, which eliminates the need for patients to set their dose each day and also tracks the number of doses administered. Easypod is intended for use with Saizen Click.Easy cartridges. Saizen is indicated for the treatment of children and adults with growth hormone deficiency.
