Dose counters to help with pediatric inhalers

Fluticasone propionate inhalation aerosol (Flovent HFA 44 mcg) and fluticasone propionate inhalation powder (Flovent Diskus 50 mcg), both inhaled corticosteroids from GlaxoSmithKline, will now offer a dose counter for children aged four and older with mild, persistent asthma. The dose counters will provide reliable dose tracking, according to the company, including doses remaining to help prevent patients from running out of medication without warning. Flovent HFA 44 mcg with dose counter is taken as two puffs twice daily and Flovent Diskus 50 mcg with dose counter is taken as one inhalation twice daily.
