DEA revokes Tenn. pharmacy's registration as of Feb. 1
The lack of accountability in controlled substance recordkeeping has prompted the Drug Enforcement Administration to revoke a Medicine Shoppe pharmacy's registration as of Feb 1.

The Drug Enforcement Administration is revoking the registration of the Jonesborough, Tenn., Medicine Shoppe owned by pharmacist Jeffrey Street as of Feb 1. DEA explained that audits of the pharmacy have found repeated overages or shortages of controlled substances and failure to maintain complete and accurate records. Continued registration, DEA said, would be "inconsistent with the public interest." This notice was published in the Jan. 2
