The Colon Cancer Alliance (CCA) and makers of Dulcolax products are working together again to remind people that March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and to urge them to schedule a screening.

“While the idea of having a colonoscopy may not be appealing to everyone, a colonoscopy can be a lifesaver,” Andrew Spiegel, CEO of CCA, said in a news release. “The impact of the consequences of not having one can be devastating to those most important to you. Whether you do it for yourself or for the ones you love, schedule a colonoscopy today.”

Colon cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States, according to the news release. Dulcolax said in the news release that a portion of the proceeds from its laxative products supports CCA community screening programs. Dulcolax is a division of Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals.

CCA is a nationwide patient advocacy organization dedicated to increasing colon cancer screening rates and survivorship, the release said. More information is available on its website.
