CMS proposes eliminating fax exemption

CMS has proposed a new rule that would eliminate the exemption for computer-generated faxes to its SCRIPT electronic prescription standard. CMS believes that eliminating the exemption will encourage healthcare providers to move as quickly as possible to e-prescribing using the SCRIPT standard.
