CMS issues Medicare outpatient payment rates for 2008

A final rule in the Federal Register goes into the rates Medicare will pay hospitals for outpatient care in 2008.

How much will Medicare pay hospitals for outpatient care under the prospective payment system in 2008? CMS has issued a final rule in the Nov. 27 Federal Register. The 647-page document goes into which drugs will receive transitional pass-through payment in 2008; payment rates for blood clotting factors, radiopharmaceuticals, and other products; criteria for packaging payment for drugs; and other areas.
