California gives pharmacists prescribing clout over controlled substances
California is joining an exclusive five-state club that gives pharmacists specific prescribing authority. The new status, called "mid-level practitioner,"or MLP, allows California pharmacists to initiate and modify drug therapies that involve controlled substances.
