ASHP releases patient-data app for pharmacists

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) has launched a mobile application that records patient data on smartphones or tablets and sends that information to a customizable dashboard.

Pharmacists can download ASHP’s Pharmacy Ambulatory Care Tracker (PACT) reporting app and dashboard for free. If combined with the organization’s subscription-based online dashboard, the app will create comprehensive reports documenting how pharmacist involvement in ambulatory settings improves patient outcomes and reduces healthcare costs.

“This new product is a real game changer for patient care as well as for ambulatory care pharmacy teams and healthcare administrators across the [United States], said Carol Wolfe, ASHP’s vice president of publications and drug information systems. 

The app tracks pharmacists’ patient encounters across 37 different disease states. “This powerful new tool helps pharmacists measure patient care trends over time, thus helping to ensure that patients meet their health-related goals,” Wolfe said.
