
ASHP Celebrates 75th Anniversary at Midyear 2017
This year, pharmacists can look forward to a variety of great topics and meetings in Orlando.
On December 4, Former First Lady Michelle Obama will be the opening speaker during a moderated conversation at ASHP Midyear, which is held December 3-7 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL.
More than 25,000 pharmacy professionals from around the globe are expected to attend the conference, which features 175 educational sessions as we well as student posters, and resident and new practitioner programing.
“Our 75th anniversary is an extraordinary milestone, and we’re excited to celebrate the culmination of our diamond anniversary at the 2017 Midyear Clinical Meeting,” Kasey Thompson, PharmD, MS, ASHP Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President, told Drug Topics. “It’s been an exceptional year that has allowed us to reflect on our storied history, celebrate our members - the people responsible for our success - and chart a course for creating the future.”

In addition, more than 360 companies will exhibit at the trade show.
As part of ASHP’s 75th anniversary celebration, there will be a "75th Street” area, located on Level 1 of the convention center with games, activities, and photo opportunities. “This specially-designed section of the Orange County Convention Center will feature an expansive timeline of historic ASHP milestones, stories highlighting the experiences of ASHP members, and several other great attractions,” Thompson said.
