AARP: Part D may save seniors more than imported drugs

The Medicare Part D drug benefit could save seniors more money than reimported medications, according to an AARP analysis using information from the Medicare Rx plan finder tool. However, AARP, which offers a Part D drug plan, indicated it still supports reimportation legislation as a benefit for non-Medicare patients. The Canadian mail-order provider ADVCare Pharmacy disputed the AARP report as circumstantial and misleading because it was compared with one or two Rx plans for only five patients.
