TrumpRx Adds Nearly 600 Generic Drugs to Website

The Trump administration will now be offering generic medications under TrumpRx, the direct-to-consumer sales website, expanding access through Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company, Amazon Pharmacy, and GoodRx.¹

“Patients have had access to things like brands directly for chronic, ongoing disease management through a variety of disease states. Usually, as we think of them [as] chronic and ongoing, our approaches to things like managing care under endocrinology for something like thyroids have been an access opportunity for patients for a while,” Ravi Patel, PharmD, MBA, MS, former innovation lead at the Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and practicing pharmacist at Blueberry Pharmacy, said in an interview.²

About TrumpRx’s Partnership

Launched in February 2026, the website has already recorded over 10 million visits, serving as a central hub for the administration’s efforts to tackle the high cost of living. The initiative represents a core pillar of the Make America Healthy Again agenda, aiming to ensure that Americans no longer pay inflated prices to subsidize lower costs in other nations.^1,3

In the presentation, President Donald Trump announced that approximately 600 low-cost generic medications would be available through TrumpRx through the support of Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs. According to the Washington Post, 559 of the roughly 600 drugs will be provided by Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs.⁴

“What TrumpRx is going to do is link to Mark Cuban and other entities like that. Mark Cuban's company is called [Mark Cuban] Cost Plus Drug [Company], and he will get the individual the cash price so long as it's not an employer paying and it's not a health insurance company paying,” John C. Goodman, senior fellow at the Independent Institute and president and founder of the Goodman Institute for Public Policy Research in Dallas, Texas, said in an interview.⁵

Beyond Generic Medications

Beyond generics, TrumpRx has secured massive price reductions on brand-name medications through landmark agreements with nine major pharmaceutical manufacturers: Amgen, Bristol Myers Squibb, Boehringer Ingelheim, Genentech, Gilead Sciences, GSK, Merck, Novartis, and Sanofi. These deals target chronic and costly conditions, including type 2 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, hepatitis B and C, HIV, and various cancers.²

The impact on individual patients is substantial. For instance, the price of the cholesterol medication Repatha was reduced from $573 to $239 for those purchasing through TrumpRx. The blood thinner Plavix saw a dramatic drop from $756 to just $16, and Sanofi committed to listing its insulin products at $35 per month. Notably, the Hepatitis C treatment Epclusa, which previously cost nearly $25,000, is now available for $2425, according to a release from the White House.

Central to the TrumpRx strategy is the Most-Favored-Nation (MFN) pricing model. This policy ensures that Americans pay prices comparable to the lowest rates offered in other developed nations. These MFN prices are also being extended to every state Medicaid program, potentially saving billions of taxpayer dollars while strengthening the program for the most vulnerable.

The initiative also bolsters National Health Security through the Strategic Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients Reserve (SAPIR). Participating manufacturers have committed to investing at least $150 billion in US manufacturing in the near term. Furthermore, companies like GSK, Bristol Myers Squibb, and Merck are donating tons of active ingredients—such as albuterol and apixaban—to SAPIR to reduce reliance on foreign supply chains and ensure the United States remains prepared for medical emergencies.
