How many drug take-back and disposal programs are there in this country? To get a fix on the number, a survey has been prepared and pharmacists are asked to fill out the survey. Results will be published in the National Directory for Drug Take-Back and Disposal Programs, which will be presented at the 2008 International Symposium on Pharmaceuticals in the Home and Environment: Catalysts for Change, South Portland, Maine, from Nov. 10-11. The survey is spearheaded by the Benzodiazepine Study Group in Maine, but will be conducted by the Community Medical Foundation for Patient Safety, Bellaire, Texas. The researchers hope that the survey will be updated every year.
