Something to talk about

Article

Tooting our own horn is not something we make a habit of doing here. But there's so much going on at Drug Topics now that we'd like to bring your attention to these new developments.

We are very pleased with the addition of two members to our staff. Both of them are pharmacists. Joe Laborsky, R.Ph., has come on board as our new publisher. He has extensive senior-level pharmaceutical experience, having worked with several advertising agencies, including Torre Lazur, Ferguson, Sudler & Hennessy, and other groups. In this capacity, he has helped many drug companies launch their products, ranging from Pegasys (peginterferon alfa-2a, Roche), to Lantus (insulin glargine, Sanofi-Aventis), to Diovan (valsartan, Novartis).

Joe also cofounded an organization called Delta Point, which provides sales training to the pharmaceutical industry. A graduate of Rutgers, he maintains a pharmacist license in New Jersey. He can be reached at jlaborsky@advanstar.com
or (973) 944-7927.

A graduate of Northeastern University School of Pharmacy, Heidi is licensed in the state of Massachusetts. She has worked in both community and hospital pharmacy settings. She also founded Kidsmeds Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides parents with on-line pediatric drug information. It was for this role that she was nominated as a Pharmacist of the Year in Drug Topics, Aug. 21, 2000. She can be reached at hbelden@advanstar.com
or (508) 846-4165.

We think both of these recruits will enable us to better meet your needs.

We hope you'll like these many changes we've put in place for you. Check out our revamped Web site at http://www.drugtopics.com/.

One final thing: Until now, we've been sending a biweekly on-line newsletter to pharmacists who have provided us with their e-mail address. Starting this year, we stepped up to a weekly schedule. If you are currently not getting our e-newsletter and would like to receive it, please send an e-mail to drugtopics@advanstar.com
.
