Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) has garnered a lot of media attention over the past several months, but a lingering and more insidious health problem is getting far less press than SARS. According to infectious disease experts, the public health threat posed by antibiotic-resistant bacteria is a healthcare crisis that requires immediate attention.
