Rite Aid to close Brooks Eckerd deal by end of May
Rite Aid expects to close its acquisition of the Brooks and Eckerd drugstore chains by the end of May

Rite Aid expects to close its acquisition of the Brooks and Eckerd drugstore chains by the end of May, pending final regulatory approval by the FTC. The acquisition includes approximately 1,850 Brooks and Eckerd stores and six distribution centers, primarily located on the East Coast and in the Mid-Atlantic states. Rite Aid said it has reached agreement with the FTC to divest 24 stores, located in Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Virginia.
