Public health groups want FDA to regulate tobacco products

A new report by several health organizations urge Congress to grant the Food & Drug Administration the authority to regulate the tobacco industry.

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, American Heart Association, American Lung Association, and Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids have issued a new urge the passage of legislation now under consideration in Congress (S. 625/H.R. 1108) that would give the Food & Drug Administration authority to restrict tobacco advertising, require more health warnings on tobacco products, and other measures.
