Amylin Pharmaceuticals, San Diego, (858) 552-2200, has FDA approval for more convenient storage instructions for Byetta (exenatide) injection. Byetta pens can now be kept in room temperature at up to 77° F after the first use. Until first use, it must still be stored in a refrigerator between 36°F and 46°F. Pens should be protected from light and never frozen.
