A new quarterly on-line publication from the FDA will provide healthcare professionals with an update on recently approved drugs, postmarketing drug safety reviews, and emerging drug safety issues. The newsletter will fulfill a commitment the FDA made in its response to the Institute of Medicine 2006 report, The Future of Drug SafetyPromoting and Protecting the Health of the Public. According to the FDA, the mission of the newsletter is to enhance communication, raise awareness, and stimulate additional reporting of adverse events.
