Duggan named CEO at FIP

Catherine Duggan, PhD, FRPharmS, has been appointed the CEO of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), a worldwide organization of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists. Duggan is a pharmacist from the United Kingdom, where she has worked as director of professional development with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.

As CEO at FIP, Duggan will continue the organization’s work within global healthcare decisions and actions, according to a statement from (FIP). “In particular, the new CEO will lead the federation through its work to develop and implement a new strategy and vision.”

To advance pharmacy worldwide, we will work through established partnerships with the World Health Organization and forge new partnerships at the global level to benefit the profession and the public,” she said.

Duggan has also served as chair of the United Kingdom Clinical Pharmacy Association and on the Council of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. 

FIP is the global federation of national associations of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists, and is in official relations with the World Health Organization.
