At the National Association of Chain Drug Stores' annual meeting, Steve Anderson plays up the role pharmacies play in neighborhoods.
The National Association of Chain Drug Stores has launched a new ad campaign branding pharmacies as the face of neighborhood health care. So reported NACDS CEO Steven Anderson at the association’s annual meeting in West Palm Beach, Fla., this week. Celebrating NACDS’ 75th anniversary, Anderson also told attendees that a new analysis by the association of the economic impact of retail stores that have pharmacies has found that it goes far beyond $758 billion in annual sales, as originally estimated. In fact, it accounts for $2.2 trillion, or 16% of gross domestic product. He urged members to raise public awareness of pharmacies’ significant influence on healthy neighborhoods.
