Medicare fraud convictions result in prison terms for mother and two daughters
A mother and two daughters were sentenced to prison for Medicare fraud.

The owners of four Miami-based healthcare corporations were sentenced and remanded to prison for their roles in schemes to defraud the Medicare program. Collectively, the three defendants through their companies collected more than $14 million from Medicare for unnecessary medicine, durable medical equipment (DME), and home health care services. U.S. District Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga meted out a prison sentence of 51 months to Maria Hernandez, 31 months to Marta Jimenez, and 51 months to Maivi Rodriguez.
