Mead Johnson recalls one batch of formula
Mead Johnson Nutritionals has initiated a voluntary recall of one batch of Gentlease powder infant formula in 24-oz. cans, batch number BMJ19. This action is being taken because a portion of the batch was found to contain metal particles. In the rare instance that an infant were to aspirate the infant formula into the lungs, some of these particles, if present, could cause a serious risk to the baby's respiratory system. There is also the small risk that these particles could damage the baby's throat. The batch code is located on the bottom of the can. Consumers who have a can with this batch number should discontinue using the product and call Mead Johnson at 1-(888) 587-7275. Consumers are asked not to return the product to their retailer.
