Wisconsin Pharmacy Collaborative launches pilot medication therapy management program.
A new medication therapy management program is beginning in Wisconsin, developed by the Wisconsin Pharmacy Quality Collaborative (WPQC) with support from the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin and McKesson. The WPQC pilot program began training pharmacists in January. Unlike many MTM programs, WPQC will draw reimbursement from multiple payors, including Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin and Unity Health Insurance. United Health Care of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services for its Medicaid, Senior Care, and Badger Care programs have all pledged to participate in the program as well. “We are very pleased to be working with McKesson on this breakthrough pilot and look forward to tracking the program’s positive results over the coming months,” said Chris Decker, executive VP and CEO, the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin.
