A year ago, at McKesson ideaShare 2024 in New Orleans, Louisiana, we made a promise. A promise to show up, to invest, and to stand beside local pharmacies in every corner of the country. From the stage, my colleague Jeanine Singer declared, “I want to stand here, and I want to tell you that we funded state pharmacy associations in all 50 states. That we’re dedicated to preserving independent community pharmacy and your practices”
Today, we’re proud to say: promise kept.
Through McKesson Amplify, we’ve delivered dedicated funding to state pharmacy associations in all 50 states—fueling advocacy, expanding outreach, and strengthening the profession from the ground up. This first-of-its-kind initiative is more than a funding mechanism; it’s a movement. A strategic investment in the future of pharmacy.
Success by state
State associations are already putting the investment to work to further their goals. Here are just a few examples:
In Nevada, the Nevada Pharmacy Alliance shared, “The McKesson Amplify Program enabled us to make meaningful strides toward our legislative and organizational goals. Expanding outreach, and increasing legislative engagement would not have been possible at this scale.”
In Texas, the Texas Pharmacy Association hosted a Capitol Day that drew over 450 attendees and facilitated more than 150 legislative meetings—many with non-members who were newly engaged in advocacy.
And in Alabama, the Alabama Pharmacy Association noted, “Without this [funding], our funds alone could not have supported hosting events and efforts of this magnitude, not to mention the variety of new initiatives we have started.”

These are not isolated wins—they are the ripple effects of a unified commitment to amplify the voice and value of pharmacy.
This ripple effect was only made possible by a close collaboration with the National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations and its dynamic leader, Krystalyn Weaver.
“We commend McKesson for their dedication to supporting the work of state pharmacy associations,” said Krystalyn Weaver, PharmD, JD, Chief Executive Officer of the National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations (NASPA). “Their commitment to strengthening the work of state associations is truly commendable. I’m confident that we’ll look back on 2025 as a turning point for moving our profession forward.”
Moving forward with momentum
McKesson Amplify is guided by a simple but powerful belief: the patient comes first. By empowering pharmacists and pharmacy teams with resources, advocacy, and training, we’re helping them deliver top-tier care—especially in rural and underserved communities. And it’s our single hope to continue this important work with further funding.
From coast to coast, McKesson Amplify is doing more than funding advocacy. It’s fueling a purpose-driven movement led by pharmacists, inspired by the communities they serve. Together, we’re not just raising voices—we’re changing what’s possible.
If you’re a pharmacist, technician, or pharmacy leader, now is the time to engage. Join your state pharmacy association. Share your voice. Be part of the transformation.
Let’s do this—together.
