Pharmacies that want to pull out of Medicare Part D should check the fine print of their drug plan network contracts. They may be in for a surprise, according to John Rector, NCPA general counsel. One Part D drug plan contract he examined had a clause that permitted mutual termination without cause, but pharmacies can terminate only at the end of a calendar year. "I can't imagine that's the only Part D contract with such a provision," he added.
