Latebreakers: Iowa, Kansas boost dispensing fees
The Kansas and Iowa legislatures have both passed budgets that would channel projected Medicaid savings from lower pharmacy reimbursement back to pharmacists through higher dispensing fees.

The Kansas and Iowa legislatures have both passed budgets that would channel projected Medicaid savings from lower pharmacy reimbursement back to pharmacists through higher dispensing fees. Both the Iowa and Kansas budgets stipulate that the dispensing fees given to pharmacies will be based on the state's savings generated by the AMP rule. Michigan, Minnesota, Texas, and Vermont are also considering bills that would increase pharmacy dispensing fees.
