“Pharmacists should attend the Total Pharmacy® Solutions Summit because it’s an opportunity to stay ahead of the changes actively reshaping the industry,” Outcomes told Drug Topics® prior to the event. “This summit brings together the insights, strategies, and technologies needed to not just keep up but to grow—helping pharmacists turn industry pressure into opportunity.”
Learn why the Summer 2026 Total Pharmacy® Solutions Summit is a can’t-miss event that industry professionals can attend from their home, on the road, or elsewhere. From general sessions on legislation and pharmacy technology to continuing education (CE) focused on vaccination and anticoagulation, attendees will be primed to turn opportunity into reality after leaving the event.
Featured Sessions Include:
Pooja Babbrah, SVP of strategy & industry alignment at NCPDP, and Seth Joseph, managing director at Summit Health, will lead the keynote session titled “Scaling Pharmacist-Delivered Care: From Fragmentation to Sustainable Impact.” This session examines the key barriers limiting the adoption of clinical services, including fragmented reimbursement and operational complexity, and introduces a practical, regionally driven approach to overcoming them.
Following the keynote, attendees will hear from experts at the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP). Andrew Funk, PharmD, and Justin Macy, PharmD, JD, will present “A Roadmap to Dispenser DSCSA Readiness,” providing a focused guide on authorized trading partners and transaction information to help pharmacies jump-start their compliance readiness as small dispenser deadlines approach.
“After the session, attendees can expect to have a thorough understanding of the requirements of DSCSA, specifically what the expiration of the small dispenser exemption means for pharmacy operations,” said NABP. “Additionally, attendees will gain valuable insights and tools that will help ensure compliance with the DSCSA.”
Next, summit attendees will sit down with Kevin Boesen, PharmD, MBA, chief commercial officer at Outcomes, for a session titled “From Payer Change to Pharmacy Opportunity: Turning CMR Policy Shifts into Revenue & Efficiency.” Boesen will break down how recent policy changes are reshaping the role of comprehensive medication reviews (CMRs) and how innovation and automation—from workflow intelligence to tools like PillCount—can help pharmacies reduce burden and turn increased demand into scalable revenue.
The summit will also explore the legal landscape with Dae Lee, PharmD, Esq, and Lucas Morgan, Esq, shareholders and co-chairs of the Pharmacy Practice Group at Buchanan, Ingersoll & Rooney. Their session, “Compounding, Peptides, and GLP-1s: Opportunities & Risks for Pharmacies in 2026,” will provide a practical overview of current enforcement trends from the FDA and State Boards of Pharmacy, helping attendees identify compliance pitfalls and develop strategies to reduce exposure to legal and regulatory challenges while pursuing high-demand products.
In the final general session, Mike Johnston, CPhT-Adv, founder & CEO of the National Pharmacy Technician Association (NPTA), will host “From Short-Staffed to High-Performing: How to Recruit and Upskill Pharmacy Technicians for Advanced Roles.” Johnston will provide actionable insights for recruiting and upskilling technicians into advanced roles to improve workflow efficiency, reduce burnout, and expand patient care services.
Continuing Education Sessions
On top of the actionable insights gathered from general sessions, participants can earn credits through the summit’s CE sessions. Kimberly C. McKeirnan, PharmD, BCACP, of Washington State University, will lead the first session, “The Pharmacist’s Impact on Influenza Prevention Through Vaccination.” She will help participants examine the clinical burden of influenza, apply current ACIP recommendations, and use pharmacist-driven strategies to address vaccine hesitancy.
Finally, Snehal H. Bhatt, PharmD, BCPS, FASHP, FACC, will host the last session of the day, “Advancing Anticoagulation Strategies in AFib: Evidence, Guidelines, and Patient-Centered Care.” Bhatt will explain the mechanisms of stroke in atrial fibrillation, examine the safety of current anticoagulants and emerging Factor XI/XIa inhibitors, and apply guideline-based approaches for individualized patient care.
“Pharmacy leaders are being asked to do more with less, while the expectations from every direction keep growing,” concluded NPTA. “Staffing pressures aren't easing, patient care demands aren’t shrinking, and the gap between what your team needs to deliver and what the system gives you to work with is only widening. The Total Pharmacy® Solutions Summit is built for that reality.”
