Humana announced that, starting in January, members in its Medicare drug plans don't have to pay a co-pay for Tier 1 generics.

To boost the use of generic drugs and its RightSource mail-order pharmacy services, Humana said its Medicare members who order Tier 1 drugs (preferred generics) are exempt from a co-pay starting in January 2008. There are more than 2,200 generic drugs covered under this benefit, which applies to Humana's Enhanced and Complete stand-alone Medicare drug plans and most members in the company's Medicare Advantage plans.
