NACDS applauded passage on Sept. 26 of H.R. 3668 that included a provision for a six-month delay to the Oct. 1 implementation deadline requiring all Medicaid prescriptions to be written on tamper-resistant paper. The bill extends certain healthcare programs that expire on Oct. 1. A companion "extenders" measure is expected to pass in the Senate this week and must be signed by President Bush to enact the six-month delay before Oct. 1.
