Oversized morphine sulfate tablet leads to recall.
A report of a tablet twice its normal size has resulted in a recall of one lot of morphine sulfate 60-mg extended-release tablets (Lot No. 91762) by Ethex Corp. According to the company, the affected lot was distributed between April 16 and April 27, 2008, and may contain as much as twice the normal amount of morphine sulfate. However, there have been no side effects or injuries reported. No other dosage forms or any other lots of product are affected.
