Miranda Rochol, Senior Vice President of Provider Solutions at Prescryptive Health, discusses digital prescription solutions and how they are turning patients into consumers.
With the introduction of digital prescription solutions, patients now have significantly more transparency regarding the cost of their medications. As prescription solutions continue to become more digitized in today’s health care landscape, real-world evidence shows that patients will become more adherent to their medications as well as become consumers that are more in charge of the prescriptions they purchase.
At the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) 2025 Annual Conference, held May 5 to May 7 in Scottsdale, Arizona, Drug Topics was joined by Miranda Rochol, Senior Vice President of Provider Solutions at Prescryptive Health. At NCPDP, Rochol hosted a session titled “On-Ramp to Empowerment: Digital Solutions that Merge Patients into the Rx Workflow Improve Efficiency, Med Compliance & Outcomes.”
With her presentation centered around merging patients into pharmacists’ prescription workflows, Rochol caught up with us to further explain digital prescription solutions and how they benefit everyday community members at independent pharmacies.
The technology that Rochol’s company has developed is geared toward the consumer, allowing them to have a better grasp on how their prescriptions are priced and why specific medications are prescribed to them. As patients—now consumers at community pharmacies—receive more and more information regarding their prescription regimens, their outcomes are almost certainly bound to improve.
