Are these the amenities of a luxury resort? No, these facilities, along with office space and parking, will comprise the new American Pharmacists Association headquarters, now undergoing an extreme makeover.
About $5 million has been raised for the renovation and expansion so far. But more than $100 million will be needed before all is said and done. APhA said revenue would come from capital fund-raising, member contributions, and financing, not increased member dues. Also, part of the new facility will be rented out to the State Department to help defray costs.
APhA hopes its state-of-the-art headquarters will become a hub for the profession. Pharmacists can contribute to this effort by calling the APhA Foundation at (202) 223-7195.
