Two additional indications approved for estrogen

The FDA has approved the use of estrogen for the treatment of moderate to severe vaginal dryness and pain with intercourse and for symptoms of vulvar and vaginal atrophy associated with menopause.

Synthetic conjugated estrogens, B (Enjuvia, Duramed) is now available in a 0.9-mg tablet. The new strength adds to the product's existing line of 0.3-mg, 0.45-mg, 0.625-mg, and 1.25-mg tablets. In addition, the company received approval from the FDA to use the estrogen for the treatment of moderate to severe vaginal dryness and pain with intercourse and for symptoms of vulvar and vaginal atrophy associated with menopause. Enjuvia was previously indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms associated with menopause.
