Supermarket chain offers diabetes screenings by appointment
Supervalu is offering glucose screenings during the holiday season
With some estimates placing an average Thanksgiving meal at thousands of calories, a service offered by Supervalu Pharmacies may come in handy. The grocery retailer is offering diabetes screenings during the holiday season to patrons by appointment. Provided by specially trained Supervalu pharmacists, the service is available at select pharmacies at Albertsons Sav-on in California, Idaho, and Washington; at Shaw's Osco in Connecticut; Jewel-Osco in Illinois and Indiana; Cub Pharmacy in Minnesota; Shop 'n Save in Missouri; Albertsons Osco in Montana; Sav-on Pharmacy in Utah; and Shoppers Pharmacy in Virginia. The chain has set up a hotline at 1-(800) 783-0458, for patients to schedule appointments and check pharmacy locations. The fee for each screening is $5.
