Patients using a specialty pharmacy for biotech medicines are more likely to report that they are better able to manage their condition than those using a retail pharmacy, according to a study released by PBM Express Scripts. Express Scripts conducted the study to determine the impact of the specialty pharmacy and its "high-touch" care model on RA patients. Consistent with the high-touch model, CuraScript patients were also more likely to perceive a greater level of skill among the specialty pharmacy staff and were more satisfied with the services provided versus retail, according to the study. NACDS declined to comment on the report.
