To tap into a mother lode of medication therapy management (MTM) information, pharmacists can check it out by logging on the Web, which includes the following sites:
- The American Pharmacists Association has an MTM resource center at
www.nacdsfoundation.org/wmspage.cfm?parm1=789 . Materials include an MTM training manual on how to implement MTM in a community pharmacy and a link to the model for MTM created by the foundation and APhA. The model includes a description of the core set of services R.Ph.s use to manage medications. - For information about pharmacy current procedural terminology (CPT) codes, go to the Pharmacist Services Technical Advisory Coalition at
www.pstac.org . Information includes the code model, the rationale, and clinical vignettes to illustrate how the codes would be used for billing. - A free on-line platform to facilitate the delivery of MTM services is available at
www.medicarerights.org/maincontentpolicy_mtmbrief.pdf . The 15-page brief includes a critique of current Part D MTM programs and suggestions for improvement. - Check out the Pharmacy Quality Alliance at
