Scripted for Her: Transforming Care for Older Women
In this episode, Natalie DiPietro Mager, PharmD, PhD, MPH, meets with Kristen Sobota, PharmD, BCPS, BCGP, and Kelly Kroustos, PharmD, CDP, to discuss caring for elderly women.
In episode 9 of Scripted for Her, host Natalie DiPietro Mager, PharmD, PhD, MPH, is joined by fellow colleagues and professors of pharmacy practice at the Ohio Northern University (ONU) Raabe College of Pharmacy, Kristen Sobota, PharmD, BCPS, BCGP, and Kelly Kroustos, PharmD, CDP.
To kick off 2026, they gathered to discuss ideas behind the 4 Ms framework and how it’s transforming care for older women. “[The 4 Ms] stand for what matters, medication, mentation, and mobility,” said Sobota.
From the pharmacist’s heightened ability to improve women’s management of medications to authentically addressing what matters most to patients, the 4 Ms framework is a simple yet essential approach within women’s health today. Further exploring this care model, Sobota and Kroustos detailed the myriad of ways pharmacists can make a difference for women reaching older age.
Throughout the episode, Sobota and Kroustos—who also serve as co-advisors to the ONU American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) student chapter—explored various resources and approaches pharmacists can utilize in order to transform women’s health among the elderly. While this episode’s guests agree that all 4 Ms in this approach are important, they too believe that the best way to address an older women’s health is by finding out what matters most to them.
